beyond the physical threat..

Other than keeping your protectee from physical or bodily harm, a PS (Protection Specialist) considers other forms of hostile factors that may place his protectee into some adverse circumstances. More than knowing the kind of threat a PS would normally expect from an adversary, it is how well acquianted a PS with his protectee that most likely may exonerate him from serious security situations.

For one, a PS may need to know a number of health related information about his protectee without necessarily being intrusive. While a PS team exhaustively prepares for a largely anticipated threat in a speaking engagement, a simple allergy to certain food or a floral decorative in the venue may ruin security plans in place. As a result, a clearly overlooked problem such as this may spoil all security preparations of the PS team when they hastily execute an immediate evac plan enroute to the nearest medical facility. In contrary, with pre-hand information about these personal traits of the protectee, a PS team would have been able to integrate this in the security plan and capably able to keep the protectee safe from unfavorable events and unwanted risks.

From among a dozen kinds of threat in store for a PS team to deal with, breaches in security plans are often caused by a surprising discovery which may come from the protectee himself. Beyond the physical threat, it is the PS team's skill in accurately responding to any uncommon event is best considered and be well aware of the potential impact to its protectee. Knowing your protectee comes now as one good factor to consider so as to help prepare a more stringent security plan.
